At Spud Software, we’re always in it to win it, whether we’re building a custom software solution or helping out our community. This past week five teams from Spud participated in Grand Blanc Parks and Rec’s “In it to Win It” challenge at the Grand Blanc Family Fun Festival. The creatively named teams, Spud 1, Spud 2, Spud 3 and Spud 4, as well as the returning Wolf Pack, were spirited contenders. The event kicked off the festival, which ran through the weekend, and the 4-person teams competed in 6 rounds of silly one-minute games for cash prizes.
Kae Eidson, Executive Director of GB Parks and Rec, said “The In It To Win It event was again a great success. We had 12 teams registered and as always everyone competed with great spirit and we believe everyone had a really good time! All proceeds benefit youth programming in our community as part of the Grand Blanc Parks & Recreation Commission.”
Spud 3 team member, Cliff Knasinski had a great time, stating, “The best game was the Fruit Ninja where we threw playing cards to try and stick one into a watermelon. About 10 seconds in, I tossed a card that stuck straight in. I couldn’t help but let out a victory whoop!”
As a matter of fact, Cliff’s team, which included Cliff’s wife, Terra Knasinksi, Ricky Zeien, and Dan Stopka, came in 2nd place! Way to go Spud 3!
Other games included bouncing pencils into 6 glass cups, stacking 6 dice on a popsicle stick while holding it in your mouth, and wrapping your partner in toilet paper using only a roll on a dowel. Our family and friends got a kick out of watching the teams accomplish these tasks.
As a sponsor of the Entertainment/Beer tent, Spud was able to support our local community youth programs and have fun at the same time!
