Helping Out Our Community

Spud Software is proud to be part of an ever-growing movement towards corporate social responsibility, in which corporations focus on efforts that have an impact on society. According to a survey conducted of over 10,000 consumers, 90% said they would switch to brands that supported responsible causes, and 84% bought responsible products when available.

While giving back has always been part of our goal, we are proud to continue to expand our efforts in supporting our community. In addition to assisting the Grand Blanc Police Department to train their K-9 unit, we enjoy sponsoring another local organization, Lucky Day Animal Rescue.

Throughout the years, we have hosted events from Meet and Greets to adoption events, to even housing cats in emergency situations.

Recently, we held a fundraiser for the Luck Day Animal Rescue that took place right here at our office. Hosted by Tana Jacks and her company, Whimsical Pet Portraits, which specializes in helping people paint ‘whimsical style paintings’, guests painted colorful portraits of their furry companions, ranging from dogs to cats to even a pet rat.
“It was a great fundraiser, and we were able to raise $234 in a couple hours, so that was awesome,” said Gretchen Sommer, owner of Lucky Day Animal Rescue.

Sommer said the money is very helpful and goes towards items such as surgeries or routine care. The event was promoted through Facebook and attracted 14 guests who had a wonderful time painting their best portraits of their pets.

Sommer said the support from Spud Software and events like this go a long way in helping Lucky Day Animal Rescue in their mission of rescuing & rehabilitating animals that are unwanted, abandoned or suffering.

“They’re one of our biggest corporate sponsors and they’ve been so accommodating by allowing us to use their facility for various reasons,” Sommer said. “The support has been tremendous for us.”
