Celebrating 20 Years with a Little Bit of Luck and a Lot of Fun

20 Years of “Thanks” from all of us at Spud Software.

Spud Software was the local hot spot last Friday night as employees and clients gathered to celebrate our first twenty years in business.

We may be considered computer geeks, but we do know how to throw a party and have some fun and that was never more evident than Friday night. No, nobody ended up doing a keg stand or donning a cape and jumping off our balcony, but we did have Mr. Potato Head centerpieces and almost 100 people showed up for a night of music, great food, and gaming in the casino set up on our second floor.

“Everyone had a blast and it was great to see so many familiar faces from over the years,” said Matt Regan, who’s been with Spud for 7 years and worked with a wide variety of clients during that time.

And while it was great to catch up with clients and enjoy food provided by Grand Blanc’s own Brick Street Bar & Grill, most people admit the casino was their favorite part of the night. The casino featured multiple tables, including blackjack, poker, roulette and craps. Guests were given an envelope with $500 in play money and a single raffle ticket for prize drawings then instructed:

  1. Cash in your play money for poker chips.
  2. Play as long as you wish, or until you run out of chips.
  3. Turn in any remaining chips for additional raffle tickets.
  4. For every $100 turned in, you will get 1 raffle ticket that will be entered in the drawings.
  5. The drawings will take place at 9:00pm.
  6. You must be present to win!

“Deke’s ParaDice & Casino was a huge hit too,” said Regan. “I had never played at a craps table before and now I have a better understanding of the game. I might even try playing the real deal next time I get a chance!”

The raffle prizes included 2 sets of Detroit Tigers tickets compliments of Brightwing, 2 Pavilion seats to Jim Gaffigan Noble Ape Tour at DTE Energy Music Theatre, 2 Pavilion seats to Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy’s Backyard BBQ Festival at DTE Energy Music Theatre, a $100 Gift certificate to The Holly Hotel for dinner and the comedy club for 2, a $25 Gift Certificate for Aubree’s Pizzeria & Grill in Grand Blanc, a $25 Gift Certificate for Little Joe’s in Grand Blanc and 2 sets of NCG Movie gift packs.

Our biggest casino winners of the night were Mike Bleau of Industry Scope and our own Adam Brown and Andrew Morris. Raffle prizes went to Tim Purves, Andrew Morris, Diana Bertapelle, Deric Maguire, Casey Crookston, Matt Regan, Connor Watson, Max Sommer and Kari Bishop.

We are honored that so many came out to celebrate twenty years in business with Spud Software. Who would have predicted that a one-man shop would rise up to stand tall amongst some of the best custom software development companies in Michigan?  Our ability to adapt and evolve with technologies through the years has certainly contributed to the success of Spud, as has our hard work and the dedication of our team of experts. But we certainly attribute much of our success to the great clients we’ve had the privilege of working with over the years. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey, and we look forward to what the next 20 years has in store.
