Spud Software Expands Development Team with New Software Development Manager

David Valentine

Spud Software is proud to announce that David Valentine has accepted the role of Software Development Manager. When this role first became available, Spud Software chose to look within the company for candidates before opening it up to the public. This role is intended to help Spud Software grow the development team both in skill and team size. Valentine, who has been with Spud Software since 2017, had enough experience and drive to fill the position. With a concentration on coding and data security, he has a lot to offer the team.

With the ever-changing devices, operating systems and browsers, we are glad to have someone with David’s experience to make sure we are putting out the best and most secure custom software possible.

Valentine comes from a security and development management background in the financial [insurance] industry. He has prior experience in leading a security team that performed regular audits and reviews of software and IT infrastructure for an A+ rated insurance provider. He spearheaded, designed and developed the “Data Breach Response” policy, which was reviewed and approved by various 3rd parties for compliance and insurance protection. He and his team maintained PCI level3 compliance for the company and had monthly audits performed validating compliance. He also implemented and maintained corporate security protocols to protect against the OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities as well as various other threats such as phishing, social engineering, and ransomware. With the ever-changing security landscape, it is more important than ever to stay current on the latest threats and techniques being used to harm digital identities and infrastructures. Having someone with experience and a passion for securing this digital landscape is becoming more and more crucial, which is exactly what Valentine brings.
